Apparently, so I'm told, every young girl (of whatever orientation!) starts thinking about the wedding she wants to form a pretty young age. Sexist perhaps 'cos it leaves out the blokes but there you go.

There are lots of blogs on the web that tell you how much you should pay for certain wedding related items. All I'll say is that some of those blogs have never lived in the real world! Three months salary on an Engagement Ring? Really? The average salary in the UK is £26,500 so you are looking at spending over £6500 on a ring?
So my advice to you is this - spend what you are able to afford. If you can't afford an all singing all dancing engagement ring - don't get one. Think carefully about what it is you NEED and what it is you WANT, then prepare your budget.
