DSLR Photography Training Day
DSLR Photography Training Day
Andrew will take you through the CORE aspects of your DSLR camera. These will be the CORE to
your understanding how to take great photographs without thinking about it; out having to resort to the 'P' mode on your camera and without having to take multiple shots to get the one the works. Its about understanding the technical abilities of the camera and yourself and making them work together in harmony. What it's not about is the creative side... not yet. That comes with an understanding of how you take the photograph.
Spreading the cost
The day costs £150 and Andrew can accommodate a maximum of 3 people on each day.
What type of cameras do you train with?
I personally use Canon 5D Mark III's. However ALL DSLR's have the same function, and indeed many of the Point and Shoot cameras have advanced functions as well. If you are a Nikon or Sony or Fuji or other brand DSLR user you are most welcome.
Online Coaching / Mentoring available
If you have the equipment (laptop / desktop + microphone + webcam) we can arrange 1-1 coaching sessions to go through your work on an individual basis as well as show you remotely how to use aspects of the Adobe range of software - Adobe Photoshop & Adobe Lightroom. This online coaching / mentoring will cost £25 per hour and can be done at your convenience.

What we will cover, what we do and where we will go...
Takes you right back to basics and looks at the relationship between ISO (ASA for you older generation film users), Aperture and Shutter Speed. Known as the Exposure Triangle this is the hardest part of photography to understand.
This module is 5 hours and is totally practical. We will be outdoors (so the dates are pretty weather dependant); and I'd suggest you dress for the prevailing weather conditions.
As well as introduction to using the varied controls on your camera Andrew will also discuss the types of photography you may want to do (landscapes, portraits, weddings or commercial) and bring along a variety of equipment as well as his skills and knowledge to help you get an understanding of each area.
We will meet at a location that is local to the majority of the attendees, sit down for a cuppa and chat about what we all want to get out of the day. We will agree on two, possibly three locations depending on times, distance of physical abilities of the group and specific needs and wants.
You will be provided with a selection of one / two page handouts that will collate together into aide memoire.
DSLR Photography Training Day - What do you need to bring...
You need to bring your camera, a camera bag, the camera manual, memory cards, spare batteries, lenses etc. Keep it simple and light. You should check the weather forecast and dress for the prevailing weather!

Think about your Photography Trainer...
Before signing up for training workshops with other photographers check to make sure they are qualified to deliver training to groups or on a 1-1 basis. If not; why not? Those same professional photographers would moan about the amateurs picking up a camera and photographing a wedding without any training yet fail to see the irony of offering training workshops themselves when they have no training qualifications!
