St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club Wedding Venue - South Wales - Many people will talk about the best wedding venue's etc and everyone will have their own opinion.  In MY opinion, St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club is THE best wedding venue in South Wales. And I should know; about half of my 40 weddings a year are photographed at St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club.  I know this wedding venue like the back of my hand - and indeed know all the staff as well!

I could never grow tired of photographing weddings at St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club, and here is why...

St Pierre Chepstow Wedding Photography - The Grounds

Two golf courses with each golf course being of Ryder Cup size and standard.  In years gone past the Ryder Cup was actually held at St. Pierre Marriott Hotel.  The two golf courses (The Old Course and The Mathern Course) are just like large country parks for some manor house.  Thousands of places to take wedding couples away for their photography.  And the best bit? (well, two best bits!)

One - Being a preferred supplier of wedding photography to St. Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club I can get access to a golf buggy to take us out onto the two country parks (or golf courses!)

Two - We are allowed on the golf courses.  And there are many many wedding venues in South Wales that will not allow this at all.  Bryn Meadows, Celtic Manor to name just two.

So two country park sized areas for your wedding photographs and I know both really well. I'm also the hotel's tame photographer for golf events and gala balls etc.  I usually stick to a simple route for the wedding photographs but if a couple wants to give me the time to be really different - then St Pierre Marriott Hotel in South Wales is THE best place for it. Open fields with huge skies, secluded woodland areas, romantic bridge areas, castle backgrounds - St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club has it all.

Fancy a sunset photograph (weather permitting)?  Then St Pierre Marriott near Chepstow is your best wedding venue.  It is so easy to get stunning sunset photographs at this wedding location.  A five-minute walk, 5 minutes of photography and you are done - stunning sunset photograph in the bag that will look amazing when you print it A1 sized for your wall.  Add in some smoke grenades for some magical effect or some special sauce in the editing and you will have a wedding photograph that your friends will envy!

St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club - The Hotel Itself

St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club was (is?) a 14th C manor house originally before being converted into a hotel in the early 1960's.  According to legend when Henry V was on his way to France to reclaim land he stopped off at St. Pierre and in Monmouthshire in general.  He needed some Welsh bowman but he also needed money.  So the story goes he left his crown jewels at St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club (obviously not a hotel at that time!) in exchange for money to finance his war.  The most famous battle of that campaign was, of course, was Agincourt in 1415.

This gives the hotel a really different atmosphere.  The main outside courtyard is fantastic for family and group photographs and with the little church next door to the main hotel (St. Peter's obviously!) you can also get married and have your wedding reception in one main place.

The hotel itself has several areas for your wedding reception, large and small.

St Pierre Suite (This is the main suite)

Private Bar & Pre-Wedding Foyer Ornate ceiling with central chandelier Views over the Old Golf Course.  This is a 5-minute walk from where those amazing sunsets of mine can be done!

• Up to a 300 maximum evening reception capacity

Chepstow Suite (This suite is upstairs and may have limited access)

1st Floor Suite with panoramic views over the Old Golf Course Private Roof Terrace leading from the Chepstow Suite

• Up to a 80 maximum wedding breakfast capacity
• Up to a 120 maximum evening reception capacity
• Up to a 80 maximum wedding ceremony capacity

St Davids Room (small and compact)

Private Patio leading from the St David's Room overlooking our Croquet Lawn Original stone wall feature

• Up to a 40 maximum wedding breakfast capacity
• Up to a 60 maximum evening reception capacity
• Up to a 40 maximum wedding ceremony capacity

St Pierre Marriott Hotel & Country Club also has some smaller rooms that can be used for the more intimate weddings - just ask.

As for as photography goes, I'm in heaven.  Great sweeping carved wooden staircase, nooks and crannies abound, "dungeon" type areas with amazing textured stonework, warm cosy intimate areas and the fabulous Morgans restaurant for when you really want to get creative for wedding photographs.
