Feel The Force Day Bridgewater  |  Milton Keynes Garrison Feel the Force Day is an unconventional convention! Bringing to life all forms of TV and Film for the whole family - no limits!

Well, this one was a bi different for me, so a long story cut shortish! I photographed the wedding of Kali & Kevin who helped organise this event in August 2010; nearly six years ago now.  We remained great friends and I've done some family photography for them also.  At the time they had three boys.  After the wedding, they also had a little girl - Tayen.  I did some baby photographs when this lovely little girl was born. She is a total star and unfortunately also has something called Neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1).  Tayen has suffered terribly from this and at her tender age has undergone chemo treatment etc.  She went blind but has a smile that angels would be proud to have!

So - Tayens Jourey was formed as a charity to document this little girls journey and to raise awareness of NF1.  As part of that Tayen is also a supporter of Living Paintings.  Living Paintings is a charity that produces Touch to See books for blind and partially sighted people of all ages. To help raise funds Tayens Journey got together with Feel The Force Day  |  Milton Keynes Garrison

What is Feel the Force Day?

Feel the Force Day events are film and TV conventions with a difference. We design our events around disabled people and make them as accessible as possible. We understand access does not just mean a disabled loo and a ramp, it’s about attitude, contact and all the subtle things that make things easier. And there we have it.  That's why I was in Bridgewater on a Saturday in May instead of photographing a wedding!! The day was amazing - to see the faces of the children, young adults and grown-ups touching, seeing and speaking with Star wars actors, Dr. Who, Warhammer 40k cos-play was the best bit. O loved it.  I'll be making time to attend again if I can.
