Wedding albums are important to me, and they should be important to you also.
First off, if you are a couple looking for a wedding photographer and don't want a wedding album from your wedding photographer feel free to leave the site right now.
Secondly if you are a wedding photographer and don't include albums then, seriously, why not? How can you even be a photographer if you don't give anybody any prints afterwards? It's like giving the couple the negatives in the days of film.
With that in mind, here's my list as to why wedding albums are important.
- They provide one of the few long term archival means for preserving photographs. The wedding albums you get from me will last your lifetime. You will be dead and buried yet your kids will be looking at those photographs.
- They provide a source of family history. Who was where, when and what they wore, what they looked like. Wedding albums are a rich source of extended family history.
- It's sooo much nicer to get your wedding album out and show it to people than to give them a USB (even it is does have cheap crystals on in the shape of a heart of some cheap straw in a mass produced wooden box). It's something that brings people together - you have to get close to look at it.
- It's way better looking at the cheap heart shaped crystal covered USB stick or mass produced wooden box with some straw in it. Wedding albums are one of a kind. Individual. Totally unique.
- They look sooo much better on a shelf on your house than the both some straw sticking out of it.
