Ok, so Contingency Planning.
We now have slightly differening rules in the four parts of the UK. Scotland, NI and Wales are in ‘Lockdown’ and England seems to be in ‘Lockdown Light’.
Nothing has been mentioned specifically about weddings / large gatherings but I’d just like to reassure you on a few things should you decide to move your wedding date:
- There will be NO charge at all for moving dates. Nothing. I won’t even insist on Jaffa Cakes…though I won’t refuse them either 😉
- There is no extra ‘premium’ fee for moving dates to weekends next year. I’ve stopped taking new bookings for 2021 to ensure I have as much space as possible. Currently I have around 114 Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays free for next year.
- If you want to move your date to a mid-week date (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday) in 2020 or 2021 there is a 20% flat discount available. If you have already paid your full balance I’ll increase the number of pages / images in your album or include parent albums etc to ensure you are not out of pocket.
- If you have already had to move your date with me…there is, again, no charge to moving it again. Nothing.
My online calendar is bang upto date and I’m happy to hold dates on a ‘just in case’ basis for as long as I can. If you need the date great, If not, don’t worry. I’m sure I would be able to re-sell the date should I need to. And I’m not sure I want to, to be honest. I’ve rather enjoyed the time off so having done some in depth business analsysis and personal analysis on what I need to live on and it’s not as much as I thought, so I’ll be reducing the number of weddings in the future anyway. Expect more bread photographs on my Facebook page!!
Check any dates first and get in touch with me.
I totally understand that rearranging suppliers is a tough job and again I‘m here to help if you need me. I can host a Zoom session for all of them so we can all get at least the best date that suits all of the suppliers. We may be lucky and every supplier is available, we may be unlucky and a few can not make the news dates, see below for my advice on that.
What if...
For me, if I can not make the date of your wedding I guarantee you will get a wedding photographer from my pool of mentees / coachees who will be able to photogaph your wedding in the same style, manner etc as myself. Not as good looking obviously, but the photography is on a par. One less thing to worry about basically. What I would suggest is that you let your suppliers arrange alternatives for you if your first choice isn’t available on a new date – let them take the stress. All suppliers have a large nextwork of trusted colleagues both in the same sector and in the industry as a whole. You trusted them to start with so continue to trust them to do the best for you. It also helps suppliers cash flow as these rather difficult times and ensures we can stay in business. Remember as small business we live or die by word of mouth, reviews and reputation.
If you can’t get the registrars sorted on your date but can get everyting else let me know. I work with several celebrants who can conduct a much more personalised wedding servive for you. You then pop down to the registry office at a mutual time / date and do the legal bit. I can honeslty see this happening a lot in the coming months, so give that some serious thought. If I’m free for the legal registry bit I’ll be there as well, regardless of where your wedding is and regardless of how long it takes me to get there. Dress up again!
Here to help you...
I’m here to help you get the wedding you want when you want it, and I’m more than happy to help in doing some of the re-planning should you need a hand due to work/childcare / stress-related issues preventing you. I do realise this can be a very stressful time so if you want to chat 1-1 we can arrange a Zoom session to do that. Even if all you need to do is vent, I’ll listen.
I run a “Couples Get Together” every Sunday at 7pm via Zoom so if you want to drop in the link is below –

Refunds
If you want to totally and utterly cancel your wedding with me, that's ok. I'd like to know what I did wrong, but it's ok!
I'd refund you your booking fee after deducting my costs so far. I believe that is fair, it is reasonable and in line with the law as it stands. I'm happy to discuss those costs, and I'm happy to provide evidence of those costs should the need arise.
Stay in touch, stay safe and stay alert! 😉
